Deep Creek Lake, Maryland
Lochandean is the home and studio of ceramic artist Jerry McGee. Located along the shore of scenic Deep Creek Lake in the mountains of western Maryland, the studio is open by appointment. During the summer months it is accessible by boat and is just a short walk from the water's edge.
Following a lengthy and successful career as a professional musician, Jerry answered a desire to engage in a creative activity which would be both organic and three dimensional. After several years of study, he established his own studio at Lochandean.
As a studio potter working primarily on the wheel, Jerry creates unique pieces, usually one of a kind. He constantly experiments with new forms and glazes, preferring artistic function rather than mass production.
